This was the first piece I allowed myself to perform where I created from pure intuition, without needing meaning, concept or engineering.

It was almost 2 years later that I understood what the piece was. I was struggling with needing, having and creating space, and against the confines that limit it. My body knew it before any other part of me did.

drinking cheap wine on rented apartment floors,
reassuring each other that our choices will make sense,
telling ourselves that it's gonna be alright in th eend.
I've Been Saving All My Pennies

"I'm still coming to see you. I've been saving all my pennies", she said.
Even as she was seeing my old friend and neighbour behind my back.
She always had a flair for the dramatic.
Yet it's the boring stuff that make a relationship.

Over the year I spent making this piece, I picked up every penny I came across.
By the time of the performance, 25,000 pennies rained onto the stage.
Funny how much the insignificant things amount to.
